The Cabinet also announced a much-awaited relief for sugarcane farmers. The Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) for the 2025-26 sugar season has been set at ₹355 per quintal, which is the minimum price sugar mills must pay to farmers.

- The new FRP will directly benefit farmers in sugarcane-dominant states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Bihar.
